2001 - Woodhead vs. Del Fante

Another classic tournament that goes down to the final pairings on Saturday before Team Woodhead prevails by a single point. Team Del Fante is down three points entering Singles and almost pulls off the upset winning five of eights matches. First round lead again proves pivotal as the team leading after the first round has never lost the tournament. More comeback victories than ever with three teams coming back to win after being down at least four holes on the front nine. "Clutch Shot Hole" - no contest with 18 on the Mountain Course hosting Dave Mullen's long downhill putt and Clay's long bunker shot both resulting in 1 up victories for their teams. Top performers include Ron Connors, Dave Mullen, Clayton Oswald and Eric Rudney. Rudney becomes first player to go undefeated in the tournament. Ironically, the last two picks in the draft, Ron Connors and Dave Mullen, are unanimous selections as 2002 Captains. For the first time not a single player earns the "biggest disappointment" tag.
